The Maha Kumbh Mela (the festival of the sacred pitcher) is anchored in Hindu mythology. It is the world’s largest public gathering and collective act of faith. This congregation, primarily, includes Ascetics, Saints, Sadhus, Sadhvis, Kalpvasis and Pilgrims from all walks of life.

This is a religious festival and pilgrimage that takes place every 12 years in India. The festival is rooted in Hindu mythology and is celebrated at four different locations in India, each on a sacred river:

⇛ Haridwar, Uttarakhand: On the banks of the Ganges
⇛ Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: On the banks of the Shipra
⇛ Nashik, Maharashtra: On the banks of the Godavari
The Maha Kumbh Mela is a time for pilgrims to reflect on themselves and connect with the divine. It's also a time for people to bathe in the sacred rivers, which is believed to purify the soul and align one's life with the universe.

Kumbh Mela Bathing dates are decided by the Akhara Parisad and competent authorities.
The Shahi Snan 2025, or royal bath, is one of the most auspicious events of the Kumbh Mela 2025, attracting millions of devotees eager to partake in this sacred ritual. This significant bathing date marks the peak of spiritual activities during the festival, as pilgrims believe that taking a dip in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam during this time washes away sins and purifies the soul.
